If I’ve entered a group of motors at various buses in my system but I only want 60% of them running at a time, how do I enter that?

Category: Component Data Entry-Motors-Diversity

Answer: For each motor you can set the “Load Factor” by going to the Motor Diversity subview in the Component Editor. Change this value from 1.0 to 0.6 for all motors in this group.

Notes: Load Factor may be calculated by clicking on the “Calculate” button which will ration the Bhp divided by the Rated Size. For example,

1500 Bhp/2000 hp = 0.75 Load Factor

Definitions: Rated Size – Input power to motor, nameplate
Bhp – Brake Horse Power, Amount of real horse power going to the load or the power a motor can deliver for “useful” work, i.e. at it’s output shaft.
